What is a Postcard Story? Are you up for the challenge? The
challenge is to create a dramatic, short, snappy piece in
only 250 words. You can use humour, poetry, dialogue…anything
goes!
Publication
- Winning entry will be published in Write: The Magazine
of The Writers' Union of Canada.
- The winner agrees that The Writers' Union of Canada will
have non-exclusive publication rights to publish the winning
entry in postcard form for publicity purposes. Any publication
of the author's story will include an authorship credit and
a copyright notice in the name of the author.
Eligible Writers
- Canadian citizens or landed immigrants
- OPEN to ALL WRITERS
Eligible Entries
- Any text, fiction or nonfiction, up to 250 words, English
language
- Original and not previously published in any format
How to Submit Entries
· Typed, double-spaced entry in a clear twelve point
font on white paper, not stapled or exceeding maximum word
length
· Faxed and e-mailed submissions will NOT be accepted
- Multiple submissions are welcome
· A separate cover letter with full name, address,
phone number, e-mail address, number of words of entry, and
whether submission is fiction or non-fiction
· Author's name should not appear on the entry, but
on the cover letter only.
Manuscripts will not be returned.

Results
Results are announced in May: Competition winner and finalists
will be contacted by phone, and the results will be posted
on TWUC's website.
