BIO
Biography

Judy Wearing's Grade 8 teacher wrote in her yearbook, "Words are like leaves. Where they most abound, fruit of sense is seldom found." Judy has been searching for sense ever since. After obtaining a PhD in animal behaviour and another degree in a similar subject - education, she's worked as an editor with a multimedia group, director for a science education organization, and head of product development for an educational publisher. She's also authored more than 20 non-fiction books for children and the popular science book, "Edison's Concrete Piano" (ECW Press, 2009). Her national magazine credits include Outdoor Canada and Canadian Geographic and she's written educational materials for Nelson Publishing, Thomson Gale, the Canadian Museum of Nature, the University of Guelph, and others. When she's not writing, she is working as senior editor with The Critical Thinking Consortium or mentoring teenage authors. Her current book project is about body hair.
