Nitin Deckha is the author of a collection of short stories, Shopping for Sabzi (2008) and has recently self-published his novel, The Real Estate of Things (2015). His fiction has been published in magazines, edited collections, and chapbooks and he has read his work across Canada, the US and India. In 2010, he was featured as part of the Canadian Writers in Person lecture series at York University, Toronto.

Nitin Deckha (he/him/his) holds a PhD in Anthropology from Rice University, Houston, a Master's Certificate in Adult Training and Development from York University’s Schulich Executive Education Centre and is a Certified Training Development Professional (CTDP).  Nitin speaks on equity, diversity and inclusion, intercultural competence and preparing for the future of work. Over the last 15 years, Nitin has designed and taught learning in in-person, hybrid and distance formats to adult professionals on topics ranging from intercultural communication, social problems, social justice, and gender issues to the transformation of work at the University of Guelph-Humber, McMaster Continuing Education and for numerous organizations.  An art enthusiast, he is a board member of the SAGA Foundation and volunteers with the Friends of South Asia, which cultivates awareness of Royal Ontario Museum’s South Asian gallery and collection.
