Ludmila Zeman

Ludmila Zeman was born in the Czech Republic and spent her early years helping her father, the famed filmmaker Karel Zeman, in his studio making puppets for his animated films. Later, she became an art director and script writer in his studio. She also illustrated her first children's books there. Since immigrating to Canada with her husband and two daughters in 1984, she has taught art in Vancouver, created animated film for Sesame Street, and with her husband, made the film Lord of the Sky--an award-winning animated work for the NFB. She is now a Canadian, living in Montreal making children's books.
