Born in Ireland, raised and educated in Canada, O.R. Melling is a novelist, screenwriter, and literary critic. Her life motto is "to travel hopefully" and she has visited such countries as India, Malaysia and Borneo, Spain, Denmark, and the Outer Hebrides. She has a BA in Celtic Studies and Philosophy, and an MA in Mediaeval Irish History. Whether writing for adults or young adults, she strives to work 'in the smithy of the soul.' To date, her books have been translated into Japanese, Chinese, Czech, Slovenian, Russian, and German. She is represented by Curtis Brown UK.
