Born in Vancouver in 1939, Wayson Choy has spent much of his life engaged in teaching at and writing in Toronto. Since 1967, he has been a professor at Humber College and also a faculty member of the Humber School for Writers. He is a volunteer for various community literacy projects and AIDS groups and, for three years running, was elected President of Cahoots Theatre Company in Toronto. Winner of numerous awards for his work, Mr. Choy is presently writing the sequel to his best selling book, The Jade Peony.
