Irene Howard
 
 
Born in British Columbia of Scandinavian parents, Irene Howard has her M.A. in English from University of British Columbia and was an English instructor there and at Capilano College. She has broadcast talks for the CBC and written articles and essays for Canadian magazines and journals. Her special interests are biography and labour and immigrant history. She is a member of the Jane Austen Society of North America.
