Veronika Martenova Charles
 
 
Veronika Martenova Charles, born in Prague, Czechoslovakia, was a popular teenage pop recording artist in eastern Europe before settling in Toronto and becoming an author and illustrator of children's books. Since 1991, she has been writing and illustrating children's books full-time.
