Rita Wong grew up in Calgary, and currently lives in Vancouver, where she teaches in Critical + Cultural Studies at the Emily Carr University of Art + Design. Wong has a Honours BA in English from the University of Calgary, a MA in English from the University of Alberta, a MAS from the University of British Columbia, and a PhD from Simon Fraser University. She has taught overseas in China and Japan, and has also worked as a writer, an archivist, and an activist in Canada.
