If her roots were in the U.S., Audrey Thomas's branches are here in Canada. She has been here since 1959 and her first book, while published in the U.S., was written here and in West Africa. She is both very domestic and a wanderer--pretty well in equal measure. She has three grown daughters and two growing grandsons, all in B.C.
