Annette Pateman
BIO
Biography

I was born in south London, England  to Jamaican parents and into a large family

I always enjoyed literature and poetry and was an avid reader growing up.

I have lived in since 2012.

My father was a great oral storyteller and would tell stories of life growing up in Jamaica and also of his experiences of settling in England. Some of these stories have found their way into my writing. I  am interested in African Caribbean folklore and in race and identity both of which feature in my first collection of self published poetry’ Spectrum’ published in May 2020

I am currently working on research for writing involving African Caribbean folklore.
