Vancy Kasper
BIO
Biography

Vancy Kasper is a poet and was born in Toronto, where she currently resides. She is the great-granddaughter of Joseph Shepard, in whose parlour William Lyon Mackenzie planned his 1837 Rebellion. She earned a B.A. at the University of Toronto and was a journalist for The Toronto Star for nine years. Her sons--Fred Jr. is an electric and jazz bassist in Toronto, and Max is the principal bass for Symphony Nova Scotia--were born on Toronto Island where the family lived for 13 years. Kasper writes fiction and poetry and is working on a fourth young adult novel, a second poetry manuscript, and first adult novel.
