Born in Hamilton in 1962, Catherine Jenkins spent much of her childhood travelling in Europe, eventually settling in Peterborough (Ontario) when her father retired. She holds an M.A. in Methodologies for the Study of Western Culture and History from Trent University. After living and working in Peterborough, Ottawa, and a cabin in the woods, she moved to Toronto in 1996. Her poetry has been published in two collections, as well as numerous journals in Canada and the UK. Her first novel, Swimming in the Ocean, is being released spring 2002 and will be supported by an extensive Canada/US tour. She works as a freelance editor and is currently completing a second novel.
