Catherine Macleod

Catherine Macleod continues to live and write collaboratively in Goderich, Ontario. She is a founding member of the Women's Press and the Mayworks Festival of Working People and the Arts. Currenly she is realizing the electronic publication of a new poetry collection. She id also developing  the story of a WWI St John Ambulance Nurse.    

Catherine co-authored Grass Scapes: Gardening with Ornamental Grasses with her husband Martin Quinn. She is an intermittant contributer to the The Leaf  and Blazing Star -- Canada Goldenrod and Little Bluesten. She is also a contributor to  Municipal World  and Our Times magazines.

The Ginger Press published, and she edited, The Kincardine Sottish Pipe Band: The First Century with author Basil McCarthy in 2007.The Ginger Press also published her collection of poetry, The Telling Time in 2002.

Between the Lines published her memoir about growing up in post-WWII Scotland and migration to Canada, Waking Up in the Men's Room in 1998.

Catherine is also the author of two plays -- Glowboys and Pandora -- produced in 1986.

She was honoured with the Woman of Distinction Award for Grey and Bruce counties on International Women's Day, 2004. In 1997 she received the Ontario Federation of Labour Arts and Culture Award
