Doris Hillis


Born at Epsom, Surrey, England, Doris Hillis came to Canada in 1955. She has taught schools in Langenburg, Saskatchewan and Winnipeg. After completing an M.A. at the University of Manitoba, she lectured at the University of British Columbia while pursuing post-M.A. studies in literature. Since 1960, she has lived near Macklin, Saskatchewan, a partner in the family farm business. She has also been active in adult education for many years. She has been writing since 1977, and is presently working in poetry and drama. She has one daughter.
