Elizabeth Waterston

Elizabeth Hillman Waterston was born in Montreal and educated at McGill University, Bryn Mawr College and the University of Toronto. She taught at Concordia University , University of Western Ontario and University of Guelph and is now Professor Emeritus of the University of Guelph. She was a founding editor of Canadian Children’s Literature / La littérature canadienne pour la jeunesse and has contributed to A Literary History of Canada,  The Dictionary of Canadian Biography, Oxford Companion to Canadian Literature, Dictionary of Literary Biography and other cyclopedias. She is co-editor (with Mary Rubio) of the five volume Selected Journals of L.M. Montgomery (1985-2004) and of the Norton Critical Edition of Anne of Green Gables.(2007)
