Graeme Gibson

Born in London, Ontario in 1934, Graeme Gibson has lived in Canada, Australia, England, France, Germany, Mexico, Scotland and the U.S. He has now lived in Toronto for rather a long time. He was one of the organizers of The Writers' Union of Canada (chair, 1974-75) a founding member of the Book & Periodical Council (chair, 1975), chair of the Writers' Development Trust (1978), and president of PEN Canada (1987-89). A long time conservationist he has been a council member of WWF Canada and is currently Joint Honorary President, with Margaret Atwood, of BirdLife International’s Rare Bird Club. He is also Chairman of the Pelee Island Bird Observatory.
