BIO
Biography

J. Jacob Potashnik spent much of his youth traveling and working in hotels and restaurants learning to cook but discovered he didn't have the back for it. Instead, Jacob studied communications and cinema and spent many years in film and television production. In 1996 Denys Arcand invited Jacob to co-write the WGC award-winning feature film Stardom. Since then, Jacob has written several screenplays and has become a much sought-after script consultant and educator working in French and English. Prose writing has been a life-long compulsion and his collection, “The Golem of Hampstead and Other Stories” was short-listed for the QWF/Concordia University First Book Prize. A native of Montreal, Jacob lives in his boyhood home with Pascale Landry, Ph.d.
