Jeanne was born in Lynn, Massachusetts in 1944. She and her husband emigrated to Canada in 1973 where they lived for four years in Iqaluit, Nunavut in Canada's Arctic. In 1980, Jeanne moved to Yellowknife, NWT, where she continued teaching and began writing. Her first two books were published while living in Yellowknife. In 1999, Jeanne moved to Richmond, BC. Her third book was published in 2000. She is available for school visits in the Vancouver area.
