Presentation Description

Imagining the Impossible (K-5)

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encompasses the world.” — Albert Einstein

While scientists might ask Why? and How?, storytellers begin with What if ... ? and go on from there. In this presentation, participants will hear readings, talk about some famous “What if” scenarios and share in composing a comical song. Participants will depart feeling their imagination revved up and ready to take them to new places.

I Hate Writing! (6-12)

This presentation/workshop for grades 6 to 12 offers participants a chance to air their writing grievances and discover ways into writing they might not have thought of before. The focus is on variety: in published material, in audience and in process. Participants will depart with a definition of “writing” that is less monolithic and more friendly/practical than the one they came in with.
