Calgary-based member Frank O’Keeffe announces the publication of his first novel for adults, Woodbine, on Amazon.

Woodbine is a historical fiction novel set in Ireland, France, and Africa from the 1890s to 1935. In the late 1800s, young Lise joins her father on an expedition from Paris to Africa. After nearly two years of adventure, she is captured by a band of the Dervish fleeing Kitchener’s army. She is rescued and returns to Europe, where she marries her rescuer, Major Havelock. Lise adjusts to her new life at Woodbine, her husband’s family home in Ireland, and settles into a pleasant routine in the village of Killynann. However, with the outbreak of World War I, and Ireland in rebellion, what joy and tragedy await the Havelock family?

Previously Frank has had eight young adult novels produced by various publishers in Canada including Harry Flammable (Dundurn Press). Details of Woodbine and sample chapters can be viewed on Amazon using the following URL:
