Hosted by the U.K. Society of Authors in partnership with The Writers’ Union of Canada, Margaret Atwood will discuss her career, her latest poetry collection, and her work throughout lockdown next Thursday, November 26, at 2:30 PM GMT (9:30 AM EST).

Event Program:

  • 2 minutes – Welcome from Nicola Solomon, SoA Chief Executive
  • 3 minutes – A few words from John Degen, TWUC Executive Director
  • 5-10 minutes – Introduction from Margaret Atwood and a glimpse into her creative routine
  • 10 minutes – Advice for authors on staying creative and connected
  • 5 minutes – Margaret Atwood reading an extract from her new poetry collection, Dearly
  • 10-15 minutes – Q&A from audience

The Society of Authors is running this event in partnership with The Writers’ Union of Canada to raise money to support authors facing financial hardship due to the COVID-19 crisis. Donations from this event will be divided equally between both organizations.
