
Alison Hughes has been a finalist for the Governor General’s Literary Awards and the CBC Nonfiction Prize and won the Writers’ Union of Canada Writing for Children Award and Alberta’s R. Ross Annett Award. She has been shortlisted nine time for provincial children’s choice awards including the Silver Birch. She has published 18 books for young people with translations into Korean, Dutch, Turkish and French, and her short fiction has appeared in several anthologies. Having presented at schools, libraries, and conferences across Canada, she has also been a touring artist for the TD Canadian Children’s Book Week. She works as a Writing Advisor/Editor at the University of Alberta.
