Jessica Payne
BIO
Biography

Jessica is a writer, poet, gardener and interdisciplinary artist. Her creative practice explores identity, wildness, art, grief, memory, love, survival and the natural world. 

 

She’s the recipient of a HA&L Short Works Prize in literary nonfiction and her poem EMERG E was published in the 2022 Wayzgoose Anthology. Her botanical art and interviews have been featured in Green Living Magazine, Flower House Detroit, The Hamilton Spectator, Urbanicity, and elsewhere.

 

She's currently at work on an autofiction book she began during her MFA in Creative Nonfiction at the University of King’s College and has a forthcoming essay in the anthology Bad Artist as well as poetry appearing in Alchemical Afternoon debuting at Toronto's Contact Photography Festival.
