Biography

Marie Prins's mid-grade children's novel The Girl From the Attic was published by Common Deer Press in October 2020. It won silver in their 2019 Uncommon Quest competition. Her memoir pieces and poetry are found in the Spirit of the Hills Writers' anthologies Hill Spirits II, III, & IV from Blue Denim Press. Marie is a remedial reading tutor with her own private practice The Reading Room. She lives in Northumberland County, Ontario, not far from Lake Ontario in a historic, octagonal house with gardens and a pond to inspire her writing. Marie has a BA in English Literature and an ECE certificate. Once upon a time she managed/owned two bookstores in Toronto. She is married with two grown children.
