Presentation description

Growing into adulthood in a complex world is a theme that rarely grows stale. All three of my novels deal with coming of age in varied ways. Prince Hamlet had his expectations of kingship dashed, even as he was completing his education in Wittenberg. Juan Barnabas, an orphan, accompanied Francisco Pizarro to the Inca Empire, and incomparable adventure during whose events he grew to manhood. Danny overcame his pathological anxiety through radical psychotherapy and learning to survive in a strange city. Each of these characters faced distinct challenges that required them to marshal their skills and personal resources. These stories should particularly appeal to high school and college age students. The presentation would intentionally encourage the audience to review their own coming of age, or to consider what they have yet to face.
