Mindfulness Workshop

How we see ourselves, and the world around us, creates the foundation of our lives. Put simply, Mindfulness, or being fully present with our real authentic self, and awareness of our surroundings, is both a practice and a way of relating to life. Research has shown children who develop mindfulness skills experience less stress and frustration, more contentment and happiness, increased attention span, and healthy brain function by learning how to respond to life's transitions in a more calm, positive way. Rooted in educational research, mindfulness benefits children by encouraging them to notice their feelings without immediate reaction, and helps us to enjoy and celebrate all of life’s blessings with gratitude for everything big and small. Correspondingly, it is the foundation for some of life’s most important lessons, and one of the most overlooked superpowers we have as human beings.

Told through the wise, loving, insightful eyes of Cher, a friend to all, and a real working dog who lives on Vancouver Island, this workshop is timeless, and perfect for these uncertain times. This book, and interactive workshop, helps children, teachers, caregivers, parents, and librarians, teach, share, and embrace diversity, understand, and utilize the super power of mindfulness to promote a positive attitude, kindness, love, creativity, calm, and gratitude. These resources also inspire children and adults alike to discover, and rediscover, the gifts of being fully present and aware with all of our senses and the joy of being authentic and mindful. As Cher says "being me is believing in my real true authentic self."

Endorsed by child psychologists, this presentation is filled with interactive ideas to enhance curriculum and inspire young readers at school in the classroom, or at home, designed to create happy moments, find calm and peace, laugh, sing, dance and celebrate out loud.

Resources include:

*Early intervention to help children successfully and joyfully navigate through our complex and distracting world

"Rhyming language and engageable teachable messages and fun activities to

*Activities for children to be aware of their own thoughts and feelings

*Learn to understand and empathize with others

*Strategies to respond to life's transitions in a calm positive, way
