Joanne Levy’s love of books began at a very early age. Being the youngest and the only female among four children, she was often left to her own devices and could frequently be found sitting in a quiet corner with her nose in a book. After much teenage misadventure, Joanne eventually graduated from university and managed to find gainful employment at a large Canadian bank as an Executive Assistant to a Vice-President. Recently, Joanne left the bank and is now spending her non-writing time helping other authors with their administrative needs. If you are an author looking for someone to help with your day to day tasks, check out Joanne can usually be found at her computer, channeling her younger self into books and still lives in Ontario with her husband and kids of the furred and feathered variety. You can follow Joanne on Twitter or find her on Facebook.

Presentation Description

My school visits vary depending upon the group involved, but generally I introduce myself and speak about my long journey to publication. My emphasis is on working hard and not giving up on dreams, no matter how many obstacles. I also include a short reading or two from my book and leave plenty of time for questions.

I can also speak to the process of creating a book, from the spark of ideas through final publication, including the several rounds of editing, cover design and what it’s like to have a real book. This presentation would also include reading and Q&A.
