Lynne Kutsukake
BIO
Biography

Lynne Kutsukake is a novelist and short story writer. Her debut novel, The Translation of Love, won the Canada-Japan Literary Award and the Kobo Emerging Writer Prize for Literary Fiction. She was a finalist for the Writers’ Trust McClelland and Stewart Journey Prize for her short story “Mating.” A third-generation Japanese Canadian, she has a master's degree in East Asian Studies from the University of Toronto, studied Japanese literature in Japan on a Monbusho scholarship, and has a degree in Library and Information Science. She attended the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies Creative Writing Program and is an alumna of the Humber School for Writers. For many years she worked as a Japanese Studies librarian at the University of Toronto.
