Biography

N. J. Lindquist is an award-winning writer and blogger whose published work includes The Manziuk and Ryan Mysteries (as J. A. Menzies), eight young adult books, a middle grade fantasy (as J. Alana Menzies), a Christmas play, and many articles and columns. She has also edited and published five Hot Apple Cider Books. N. J. is currently blogging a memoir about being both adopted and gifted. She's also blogging about being surprised by breast cancer (in 2018).

When she was still young, N. J. realized she was compelled to share what she'd learned with others. She later taught high school English and received a Teacher of the Year Award. She also homeschooled her four sons until they went to high school. She's taught a variety of workshops across Canada and in the US. 

In 2001, she co-founded The Word Guild and served as executive director until 2008. She also directed Write! Canada from 2002 until 2012.

Born and raised in the prairies, N. J. and her husband Les live in the Greater Toronto area near their sons and their families.
