Penelope S. Hawtrey

Penelope Hawtrey was born in Manitoba, grew up in Southern Ontario, and now lives in the Ottawa region.  She attended Carleton University, where she earned a BA and post-graduation worked in various administrative roles.

Penelope’s publications in literary journals include Potluck Magazine, the Furious Gazelle, and the Thieving Magpie.  In the spring of 2016, she released several short stories independently and later published a collection of short stories titled, 1500 Words or Less: A Collection of Short Stories. Penelope’s recent publication is a middle-grade fantasy novel, titled, Dragon in the Mirror: Into Canonsland . This is the first book in a planned series. 

Travel enthusiast, sunny day runner, she also loves dogs. Happily married, Penelope continues to weave stories based in reality and fantasy with a cup of earl grey tea never far away.
