Sylvia Barrett

Sylvia Barrett was born in Whitehorse, Yukon. A Ryerson journalism graduate, she has been science editor and managing editor of Equinox, founding editor of Ottawa Magazine, originally called Ottawa City, and a senior editor at Canadian Geographic and The Walrus. Barrett has an abiding interest in health and medicine, natural history, environmental sciences, social sciences, and arts and culture. Now freelance, she lives in Kingston, Ontario.
