WENDY MONICA WINTER, M.Ed., is an award-winning author who lives with her husband, Calvin, in Squamish, British Columbia, Canada. She enjoys bouncing around like Mamma Kangaroo especially on her skis, bike and feet in her local mountains. She is passionate about exploring new cultures and countries on our beautiful planet and this love has led to her first book. Her inspiration to write Where's My Joey? came while teaching in Perth, Australia. She is currently working on her next picture book about not-so-scary scary monsters so stay tuned for some more adventures.

Presentation Description

Wendy Winter, M.Ed., is an experienced teacher who has enjoyed working with every age student group from Kindergarten through to grade 12 and even university. Consequently, she can adjust the presentation to the group's grade and needs.

For the younger children, invite Mamma Kangaroo (tail, ears, smile and all) to read and sing about her story of her quest to find her precious little one. This reading can be followed with interesting facts about Joey's friends (mostly Australian animals) and an invitation to ponder what we look for outside of ourselves and, in the end, we have to find it within. Some children answer their sunglasses when they are on top of their head, but others have much more beautifully profound answers.
