IMPORTANT: Once you have paid to renew your membership, you must send a note to info@writersunion.ca to let us know that you have rejoined so we can fully restore your account. Please allow 1-2 business days for this to be completed for credit card and e-transfer payments; payments by cheque will be processed once they are received.
You can easily renew your membership through the TWUC Member Portal. Just log in* at https://portal.writersunion.ca/ and click ‘My Membership’ then ‘Renew My Membership’ to pay by credit card. Selecting the appropriate membership type will automatically update the amount to pay. The regular membership rate is $205, with discounts available for members over the age of 80 ($155) and Indigenous members ($50).
*Can’t access your account? You can reset your password by entering your email address at https://portal.writersunion.ca/user/password, which will send you a password reset email. When you click the link in that email, you will be automatically logged into the Member Portal and invited to set a new password. If you don’t receive the password reset email after a few minutes, please check your spam/junk folder or email info@writersunion.ca for assistance with accessing your account. If you no longer have access to the email address associated with your account, or you're not sure which email address to use, please email info@writersunion.ca for assistance.
When you renew in the TWUC Member Portal, you will have automatic access to your full account and all member resources. Please take a moment to update your account information by clicking ‘My Membership’ then ‘Edit My Account.’ You can learn more about your membership and the TWUC Member Portal at https://portal.writersunion.ca/guide-your-membership.
Prefer to pay by cheque or e-transfer? Cheques can be mailed to #600-460 Richmond St. W., Toronto, ON M5V 1Y1. E-transfers can be sent to info@writersunion.ca, along with a note providing the answer to your security question. Please make sure to include your full name and reason for payment with all payments.
Once we’ve received your payment and finished restoring your account, we’ll send a follow-up email with details about your renewed membership. Please allow 1-2 business days for this to be completed.
