Biography

Abby Pelaez writes about diaspora, anti-capitalism, and explorations of platonic and romantic love. She has read her work at the Vancouver Writer’s Festival, and excerpts from her in-progress food memoir are published in Room Magazine, Hungry Zine, and emerge22She completed the Whistler Writer in Residence mentorship on a scholarship acceptance and is an alumnus of The Writer's Studio at Simon Fraser University.

Abby draws inspiration from her Filipino-Canadian upbringing in Vancouver, her shoestring budget travel quests, her jack-of-all-trades career background, and the intriguing people she has had the pleasure to meet.
