Bev Brenna to edit anthology of YA short stories

Bev Brenna, Saskatoon freelance editor and author, has been invited to edit a short story collection for young adults, published by Red Deer Press. Red Deer Press is committed to publishing talent from across Canada and supports both established and emerging authors.

Story Criteria:

  • under 4000 words
  • any genre (realistic fiction, speculative fiction, historical fiction, etc.) but created for contemporary teen readers
  • connected in some way to the theme of “identity”
  • authored by a writer living in Canada

Submission Process:

  • submit the entire story along with a query letter that includes a brief summary of how the story connects to this theme plus an author bio of 100 words or less
  • send your submission by regular mail, with a self-addressed, stamped envelope (SASE) with sufficient Canadian postage for reply (plus author email, if available) to the following address:

Payment:

  • All authors of stories selected for the anthology will receive a one time fee
