George Mercer

Photo: Janet Mercer 2015

For more than three decades George worked as a national park warden in Canada, including work in six national parks on both east and west coasts, the North and the Rocky Mountains.  George continues to be passionate about parks and protected areas and this passion forms the backdrop for much of his fiction and non-fiction writing.

His non-fiction writing has appeared in the Globe and Mail and he is a contributor to Earth Touch News Network (South Africa). His first novel, Dyed In The Green, was released in November 2014 and is part of a planned six-book fiction series about national park wardens and the challenges facing our parks and protected areas.

Originally from Newfoundland, George now lives with his wife and family in North Saanich, British Columbia.
