George Mercer
BIO
Biography

For more than three decades George worked as a national park warden in Canada, including work in six national parks on both east and west coasts, the North and the Rocky Mountains.  Since retiring in 2012 George's passion for parks and protected areas formed the backdrop for much of his fiction and non-fiction writing, including Dyed In The Green, the first fiction series about Canada's national parks. The title book was released in November 2014 and since then George has released Wood Buffalo (2016), Jasper Wild (2017) and Fat Cats (2018). George plans two more books in the series but has recently pivoted his writing to release Harking (2020), his first work of YA fiction. Originally from Newfoundland, George now lives with his wife and family in North Saanich, British Columbia.
